'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a supporter's spectacles amid the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a long-range shot from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess promptly slammed home the deflection before charging toward the crowd to revel in the moment, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

This completed an incredible comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 deep into the second half. During the celebrations, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The result earned a upcoming fixture at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. The athletic midfielder had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about long distance going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that far out," says Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right wing-back after the team changed formation. That meant getting to grips with City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the winger was among the opposition who complimented the way his former team approached the match.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the basics and simple things, they can just execute repeatedly," he explains. "It appears that they complete every delivery and they are adept at control and take the sting out of a game. You can believe you're doing well and then abruptly they will just thread a ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a resilient mindset and attention just to keep pace."

New Chapter

Swansea were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a popular figure across a couple of years at his former club and has swiftly replicated that in his new home. At his previous team he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at a League One side from Manchester United. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into professional soccer. I think a lot of players would say development squad matches is completely distinct. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without serious challenge. There's not many physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that growth for his team and nation, shining for his national side, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the past five games, including home and away encounters against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "little Iniesta or Xavi" given how he manipulates the ball and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

This marks quite the ride for the youngster from the local area in Glengormley, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his father, Stuart, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Old Trafford Memory

His only game for Manchester United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was shut owing to temperatures of -15C. "It was a extended travel and it was freezing," he recalls, chuckling. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged a teenager? "This turned out relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I realized I wouldn't break through at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

New Environment

This occurs during the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a small coach driven by academy staff, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to socialize with the lads but I'm aiming to be the following person to drive independently and on the road. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

During his time at Leyton Orient, Galbraith would blend in with fans on the Tube after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
